VISION

ACC International Relief exists to enable Australians to help others. We do this by assisting individuals, families, businesses and churches to reach out and demonstrate God’s love for the world through humanitarian development and relief initiatives.

ACC International Relief is the Aid and Development arm of the Australian Christian Churches.

WHAT WE DO

ACC International Relief carry out humanitarian projects with approved partners for the relief of poverty, suffering, distress and misfortune of people wherever they are found in the developing world, regardless of age, sex, race, ethnic background, religion, political beliefs or marital status.

We are committed to assisting developing countries reduce poverty and achieve sustainable development. Building the capacity of indigenous civil society organisations that focus on partnership with poor communities is one of our founding principles.

STRATEGIC CONNECTIONs

ACC International Relief works with Strategic Partners to develop and approve effective projects. ACC IR program staff are involved in each stage of the projects lifecycle; identification, design, appraisal, monitoring and evaluation.

All Strategic Partners and their projects must comply with our reporting requirements and undergo regular monitoring and evaluation.

Millenium Development Goals (MDG)

ACC International Relief also promotes development projects which address the global vision of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s) to achieve sustainable development and halve poverty by 2015.

Approved overseas aid fund

Donations to our World Relief Fund are tax deductible. This fund is an approved Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) under the Overseas Aid Gift Deduction Scheme (OAGDS) classification.

Accountability

ACC International Relief is a signatory to the ACFID code of conduct, which provides standards on management, public communication and disbursement of funds.

    Central and southern Laos has recently suffered a period of extreme flooding, with World Vision estimating approximately 250,000 people affected. ACCIR Field Workers have now successfully provided over 3,000 water filters to affected communities.
